Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson say bringing drummer Anika Nilles into the Rush world wasn’t just about technical skill, it was about chemistry. Speaking to Absolute Radio, the pair said Nilles impressed them not only with her playing, but with her personality. After rehearsing five classic Rush songs, they initially felt something was missing, specifically the feel of Neil Peart’s intricate arrangements. But on the final day of rehearsals, they say it all clicked, with Nilles “nailing” the material and erasing any doubts.
Iron Maiden is looking ahead, way ahead. The band has announced two shows in Japan this November, which will wrap up their two-year Run For Your Life tour. After that, Maiden plans to take all of 2027 off before returning to action in 2028. The break follows an extensive global run that’s kept the band on the road for nearly two years.
The trailer has dropped for the new documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead. The film traces Idol’s journey from his early days in England and punk outfit Generation X to global rock stardom. It also takes a candid look at the darker side of fame, including his long struggle with drugs. The documentary is now playing in select cities.
