Dave Grohl has spoken out for the first time about Josh Freese’s departure from Foo Fighters. In a new interview, Grohl said the decision to move on “didn’t happen overnight” and followed months of discussion within the band. Freese, who joined in 2023 after the death of Taylor Hawkins, revealed last year that the band had decided to go in a different direction. Grohl says the entire band made the call together, thanking Freese for what he described as an “awesome” run.
Could Steve Perry reunite with Journey? In a recent interview, keyboardist Jonathan Cain says Neal Schon has already reached out about a possible guest appearance on the band’s upcoming tour. According to Cain, Perry is “thinking about it” and hasn’t ruled it out. Journey has more than 100 shows scheduled, and Cain says Perry would be welcome at any of them.
William Shatner is heading into heavy metal. The actor has announced a new album featuring more than 30 major names from the metal world. Shatner says the project will include covers of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, along with original material. Additional details are expected soon, with the album slated for release later this year.
