So I do a search for ‘How to pronounce GIF’ the little animations you can text to someone. I click on the first one and see that it’s almost 3 and a half minutes and think what? How long does it take to pronounce a 3 letter word. However this young guy comes on and says it’s pronounced GIF as in Giraffe. Then goes on to defend the pronunciation with compelling arguments in a funny and condescending way. Ya, it’s not completely PC. If you’re a bit of a geek for these things, you’ll enjoy it. If not just take his advice and pronounce it GIF as if the G was a J. -Doug Jones
