Special Olympics BC Summer Games are coming to Prince George from July 10-12
The 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games features 1,200 athletes with intellectual disabilities from all over British Columbia and the Yukon. They are supported by more than 400 volunteer coaches and mission staff.

Wednesday, July 9
Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg for the 2025 Special Olympics BC Summer Games
Location: Begin at Prince George RCMP Detachment, end at CN Centre
Time: 10 a.m. to approx. 12 p.m.
Cheer on law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes as they run the Flame of Hope across Prince George to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics, and prepare to light the 2025 SOBC Games cauldron on July 10!
Thursday, July 10
Opening Ceremony
Location: CN Centre
Start: 7:30 p.m.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and cheer for the Special Olympics BC summer sports teams that are so excited to come together from across the province for the first time since 2017! Join us for an evening of entertainment and inspiration.
SOBC Games merchandise will be on sales at this location from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, July 11
Sports: 10-Pin Bowling, Basketball, Bocce, Golf, Powerlifting, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Track and Field
Activities
Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Screenings
- Visit times are planned around athlete sports schedules. Friday screenings are only for SOBC Games athletes. Everyone with intellectual and developmental disabilities can attend on Saturday. See the Saturday schedule for details.

Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Screenings
- Location: Civic Centre (808 Canada Games Way)
- Open to all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – all are welcome to access free, fun health education and giveaways in a welcoming, supportive setting!
- Games athlete participation coordinated within sport schedules
The 2025 SOBC Games sports are 10-pin bowling, basketball, bocce, golf, rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting, soccer, softball, swimming, and athletics.
