Canadian Pop-punk act Sum 41 has played what they say was their final performance as a group. The group performed as part of their induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the Junos last night in Vancouver. The award show also saw Anne Murray get a lifetime achievement award. Val Kilmer, the iconic actor known for his roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever, and The Doors, passed away on April 1, 2025, at the age of 65. His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, confirmed that he died of pneumonia in Los Angeles. Kilmer had faced significant health challenges in the years leading up to his death, including a battle with throat cancer that began in 2014. The Junos are tomorrow, March 30th and among the nominees is Elisapie whos latest album is a collection of original works as well as a cover of Metallica's The Unforgiven, translated into Inukitut. The award ceremony will also be the final performance for the retiring Sum 41. Speaking of final performances, Ozzy will be taking to the stage on July 5th in Birmingham, England. After being in business since the year 1670, The Bay has been given approval to liquidate it's stores. Only 6 locations will remain open, and the Prince George location in Parkwood is not one of them. Jen and Cody did the math on some of the things that weren't around when the Bay first began.
Sadly George Foreman passed away over the weekend. The Texas-born Foreman became Heavyweight Champion of the World, and segued into a TV staple and pop culture icon. He was swept up in the swirl of decade-defining events surrounding Muhammad Ali as well as Joe Frazier and other high-wattage pugilists of the 1970s. In the 1990s, Foreman took advantage of the availablity of low-cost TV time to launch his Foreman Grill home grill product through a series of infomercials that he hosted.
